| I took these pictures while we were stuck in traffic for over an hour in our tiny taxi coming back to the Hyatt from Swayambunath. This was the 4th or 5th day of Tihar and it was the bother/sister holiday, so supposedly people were off from work. The streets were more crowded with people than usual, which added to the traffic jam. The taxi driver decided to take a short cut after stopping to fix his oil cap. We learned after a few of these "short-cuts" that they were usually the long way home over really bumpy, dusty roads. They took them because normally the main roads are so clogged you can't even move at all. Just another day in Kathmandu. |
