Patan, Nepal - Yoganarendra Malla statue

This is statue of King Yoganarendra Malla, who wished to be immortal. He believed that as long as the bird on the cobra's head remains, he would continue to live.

A door and window of the palace are always kept open, should he return. This statue dates to 1700.
