Durbar Square, Kathmandu - Garuda, Kasthamandap

Previous | Home | Next

This picture is taken with Maju Deval temple behind me (we'd just stepped down the 9 levels). This is our Sadhu standing and waving in front of the Garuda statue.

Behind and to the right of the Garuda statue is Kasthamandap, the temple that Kathmandu is named for. It was built in the 12th century from the wood of a single sal tree.
