The Strand Hotel was built in 1901 by the famous Sarkies Brothers. Its rooms are furnished Victorian style and the hotel has 32 suites. Our luxurious suite was located on the second floor. We enjoyed excellent butler service and I should have taken pictures of the bathroom to show you the wonderfully large bathtub that I enjoyed soaking in a couple of times. It was especially welcome after our stay in Bagan where we spent 4 days traipsing through and climbing ancient temples barefoot.
