Shinbinthalyaung is located within the area of Shwesandaw Zedi. It was built by King Anawrahta in the 11th century A.D. This reclining Buddha is a very large 60 feet (18 meters) long in the position of Parinibbana. Normally the Buddha's head in parinibbana is facing north, but this one is facing to the south with the "image house" entrance facing to the east. It is just large enough to house the Buddha.
