Gubyaukgyi Temple |
Bagan, Myanmar (Pagan, Burma) |
| Gubyaukgyi Temple is located near Myinkaba Village (the Mon village). This temple was built in 1113 A.D. b Rajakumar, son of King Kyansittha. We know this because it's inscribed on a stone known as the Myazedi stone inscription. Inside this temple are amazing wall paintings. Since UNESCO has cleaned most of them up (a project they carried out between 1984 to 1992), they're thrilling to look at, but as Minthu said, you have to come here with your Nikon eyes because photography is not allowed. |
