| These markets are called "5 Day Markets" because the hill people rotate between 5 different locations over a 5 day period. They were here this day and people come from all over the lake to buy produce and other items. They come by boat and parking is scarce but somehow everyone manages to find their way in. The assortment of vegetables present was amazing, tomatoes, eggplants, scallions, peppers, betel, beans, garlic, cheroots and more. And of course there were people selling lacquerware, Buddha statues, longyis and Shan bags to name a few. It was very good to get there first thing in the morning because we missed the tour groups who came later. I'm not sure how they all made it in, but they must somehow. |
