You'll notice that most of these pictures are of orchids and other flowers. We went to Kinabalu National Park after we returned from the Danum Valley. While it was a disappointment compared to what we'd seen there, the flora was still a huge treat. Our taxi driver asked us if we wanted to stop at a rose garden on the way and while we weren't really excited about that since we see roses all the time in Seattle, we agreed. Instead we were treated to an amazing assortment of locally grown orchids and hibiscus. They were especially fun to see after reading Eric Hansen's Orchid Fever, an amazing book.
