Kathie and I have been to Bangkok many times now, Kathie many times more than me. We always find new places to explore and eat and do spa and generally have an excellent time. This time we even had our teeth cleaned at Bumrumgrad Hospital and were both very happy with our care, not to mention the price tag!

Also, this time we were somewhat focused on generally exploring housing and living options. It's fun to start thinking about places to retire outside of the U.S. We would both consider living here. Some of the pictures were taken from the expressway of high rises and other city views. We also spent about 4 hours at the Prasart Museum on the day before we left. I've included an entire section of pictures from the Museum that I hope you will enjoy - Prasart Museum

Fireworks
The night before we left to go to Borneo was the first night of Loy Krathong, a celebration that goes on for a few weeks. It was still going on when we returned almost 2 weeks later. The first night had the best fireworks over the river, though. All the major hotels did their own 10 - 15 minute show and so the fireworks seemed to go on forever. See the fireworks from our suite at the Royal Orchid here.

Being the end of November, the king's picture was everywhere. It was interesting to me this time that during our first 4 day stay before heading to Borneo, I saw the queen's picture adorning the sides of tall buildings. When we came back for 5 days after Borneo, the king was everywhere. But that's easily explained by the fact that his birthday is celebrated throughout the country on December 5th. He turns 78 this year. So there are pictures I snapped as we sped along the expressway of posters of him. I find it fascinating how much the Thai people love their king and queen.
