Wat Benchamabophit (Marble Temple)
We left the hotel at about 6:30 AM and caught a cab to this Wat to watch these Buddhist monks collect alms in their black alms bowls. Throughout the city, the monks normally go to the people, but at this Wat, the people come to the monks. As my guidebook states, this is a very moving sight. We were both glad we made the decision to get up early and come to witness this daily ritual. |
